Backlund has his side of the ice covered. It was Dube that got caught too low.

Another solid game and some bad luck. A nice long early season road trip can solidify a team. I’d bet on at least 8 points on the trip if they can keep doing what they’ve been doing for the first two.

I think they'll probably amend/clarify the rulebook so if someone tries to do what Tkachuk does again that, they'll both get a penalty.

Throwing a bunch of low percentage shots on net might help in fancy stats but it doesn't win many hockey games. But I'm sure Sutter is telling the boys to just keep shooting. Maybe they should do a team building exercise at Darryls farm?

they could also tank for draft picks for 10+ years and still have no success in the playoffs if they want too right?

Maybe not, but if we keep losing and the price includes an unprotected first round pick... I'm saying (frank) it and blow up the team at the deadline and acquire as many picks as possible, not necessarily going after Eichel. Wright may not be generational, but Bedard next year looks like the real deal.

Anyone trading for Eichel should place a bazillion conditions on the return for Buffalo and lottery protect the (frank) outta their picks.

I think Brady getting locked up in Ottawa actually might help out the Flames as far as Eichel goes. I can see Matthew willing to sign long-term in Buffalo to be a part of that rivalry. If you're Buffalo you're probably not going to do better than Tkachuk and Pelletier for Eichel.

Watched the CBJ Det game. 45 shots for Detroit. They definitely won't be an easy out. Bertuzzi, Larkin and rookie Raymond are a hot line. Unfortunately, Greiss is even hotter.
Smith's yapping after the whistle might earn him some penalties (if he plays.)

Much better players than Gawdin have been on waivers and didn't get claimed. I'd be surprised to see him get claimed.
